3 Tips When Considering Your New Website

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Affordable WebSite Design:

Custom web design usually costs thousands of pounds,  Some of the best web
development companies charge on average £3,000-5,000 just to start talking. Many
charge a lot more. That’s hardly affordable for most small businesses. We think web

design should be affordable, but be carefull with the companies that offer websites at stupidly low costs. Or advise is to shop around ask some questions and see if the companies come back to you.

Attractive Website Design:

An affordable website shouldn’t mean an ugly website. You should be proud of your site
—proud enough to make it your number one marketing tool. It should be attractive,
appealing and representative of who you and your business are. It should give
customers confidence and not leave people rolling their eyes at outdated styles.

Effective WebSite Design:

A pretty website is nothing if it isn’t effective. If all you have is eye candy, you’re wasting
your time. We wholeheartedly and fundamentally believe that your website should do
something for your business. A lot of beautiful websites with music and fancy graphics
have won awards, but those sites are useless if you can’t find information and
accomplish something. Small businesses can’t afford to have websites that don’t deliver.

Meta Keyword Tags – Are They Important?

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I thought i would talk about my views on Meta Keyword Tags. This is a major debate of SEO professionals all over the globe, and most people now say that Google no longer uses Meta Keyword Tags but Yahoo does.

This is true to some extent, but the arguement is do we still need to include meta keywords? Some feel that using the keywords could harm your web page rankings. Webmasters used to fill the keyword tool with repeatitive keywords which is a form of spamming the search engines, and that alone could get you removed from google.

If you are clever you would use the keywords as they are supposed to and only use a couple of keyword phrases that gives the search engines an idea of what your site is about.

Search Engine Submission

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

What is Search Engine Submission or website Search Engine Submission? – As it sounds!  Successfully submitting your website to the search engines so it will be indexed in the databases.

Now this is a has been a big topic of conversation over the last couple of years with SEO’s all over the world, and it is very common to see a statement like this:

If your site has not been listed on all the major search engines, then you must have them submitted to all the major search engines.

Now, im my opinion if a non seo person reads this they may well think, ahhhh i need to do this straight away and the the firm will get the sale, more than likely.

How ever with the amount of searchbots out there that find websites it is now very unlikely that you need to submit your site to hundreds of search engines, in fact you should really on count on the big 3!!

GOOGLE

YAHOO

MSN

The reason i say this is because the smaller search engines use these guys search results, or are more than likely partners.

Now the question that is going through your head at the moment may be, how do i get listed on Google, Yahoo and MSN. This is covered in an earlier blog post which i will update for you soon, however guys!!! – Google is getting very clever and more than likely will find you with in a few days / Months at the longest.

If you show up in the higher pages of the SERP’s (Search Engine Results Page) is entirely down to your SEO strategy or campaign.

If you want to know if you have been indexed (Accepted by google), type your domain name into the google search box.How to see if you have been indexed on google

If your site appears in the list in the search results below, Its good news and your indexed on google.

Guys, the bottom line is this! – If your site has been listed on google, the rest of the search engines will follow suit.

However, Aweb Enterprises we index you free of charge with any of our services you choose.

What is Google Page Rank?

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

We quite often get asked “What is Google Page Rank”?

So i am going to give you a brief explanation to try and make it a little easier for you to understand.

Google Page Rank (Goolge PR) is the term that google use to give websites an importance number from 0 – 10. The higher the number the better and more authority the website is in the eyes of Google. Now this is based upon what is primarily happening off the website, meaning who and what are linking to the website in question, but your website links must be optimised correctly for the search engine robots. The links are done on the net with hyperlinks and the more relative these links are google gives the site a vote of confidence. The more Google’s confidence grows in the site the better your Page Rank grows and more than likely you will appear higher up the SERP (Search Engine Results Page).

In a nutshell, the more quality and releavant links you have to your site the better your site will perform against your competition.

These links are commonly know to use SEO’s as link popularity, link equity or Google Juice and this is what we ultimately strive for you as our clients.

Obtaining a high Google PageRank has a lot of factors, in fact Matt Cutts of Google Spam quotes around about 200 aspects are checked by google, now nobody knows what those 200 are, but we do know the main criteria is and can help you grow you Google PR.

However it is very important to realise that it will not happen over night. If any firm tells you they can produce results overnight they are doing “Black Hat Tactics” and these are illegal in the eyes of google and you could end up with your site being permanently removed.

Hope this helps
